Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 June 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Airboat (https://airboat.uk). By creating an account, booking a boat, or listing a boat, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The Airboat platform

Airboat is an online marketplace that connects guests who wish to charter, rent or experience boats with hosts who offer them. Airboat is not the operator, owner or insurer of the boats listed on the platform. Hosts are independent service providers.

Airboat facilitates discovery, payment and communication between hosts and guests. Each booking is a contract between the guest and the host; Airboat is not a party to that contract.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use Airboat. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account, to keep your password confidential, and to notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our policies, or applicable law.

4. Bookings and payments

Guests pay the listing price plus a service fee at the time of booking. Payments are processed by Stripe. Once payment is successful, the booking is confirmed and the host receives a payout (less Airboat's commission) according to Stripe's payout schedule.

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes are included where required by law.

5. Host obligations

By listing a boat on Airboat, you confirm that:

  • You own the boat, or have full authorisation to commercially charter it.
  • The boat is seaworthy, properly maintained and meets all applicable safety standards.
  • You hold valid insurance covering commercial passenger use.
  • You hold the required skipper licences or operate the boat with a qualified skipper.
  • Listings are accurate — photos reflect the actual vessel; descriptions are not misleading.
  • You will honour confirmed bookings and provide a safe, professional experience.
  • You comply with all UK maritime, tax and consumer-protection laws.

6. Guest obligations

By booking on Airboat, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and behave respectfully toward hosts and crew.
  • Comply with all safety instructions given by the host or skipper.
  • Not operate the boat unless explicitly permitted and qualified to do so.
  • Not bring illegal substances on board or use the vessel for unlawful purposes.
  • Pay any damage caused by you or your party beyond reasonable wear and tear.

7. Fees

Airboat charges a host commission (currently 10%) on each booking and a service fee (currently 10%) to guests. Fees are shown transparently at checkout. Current rates can change with notice on the platform.

8. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation policies are set per listing by the host. Service fees may be non-refundable. Refunds (when applicable) are issued to the original payment method. In the event of unsafe weather, mechanical failure or other host-side issues, guests are entitled to a full refund.

9. Prohibited use

You may not use Airboat to:

  • Post false, misleading, illegal or infringing content.
  • Circumvent the booking and payment system (i.e. transact "off-platform").
  • Harass, threaten or discriminate against other users.
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security.
  • Scrape, copy or resell content from Airboat without permission.

10. Intellectual property

The Airboat name, logo, design, code and original content are protected by copyright and trademark law. By posting photos or text to Airboat, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and promote that content on the platform and in marketing.

11. Liability

Airboat is an intermediary; we do not own, operate or inspect the boats listed. Guests participate in water-based activities at their own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Airboat is not liable for personal injury, property damage, loss or harm arising from a booking, the conduct of hosts or guests, or weather and sea conditions.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
